This week we are spotlighting our very first creator who joined the Shade team back in May! Austin has been hard at work curating amazing content for us to post on our socials and we wanted to give him a special showcase.

Read the Q/A below to learn more about Austin and his interesting background!

Can you give us a quick introduction and tell us about your background?

“My name is Austin Mital-Skiff and I am a videographer and cinematographer. I am currently a student at the University of Michigan and exploring my passions in these fields. I really got into this space in high school when I fell in love with content creation through doing a lot of video work using my high school’s drone. I was really drawn to capturing pictures and videos and that sparked a deep passion in this space.”

What are some projects you have worked on and do you have a memorable one?

“I am very fortunate to say that I have had the opportunity to work with great companies like American Eagle and McLaren and those experiences have been amazing. However, if I had to pinpoint one memorable experience, I would say that I really loved filming my high school play my senior year. There was a shot with a piano and the main cast that I took on the top of a mountain that was truly incredible.”

How does your summer look ahead as far as new projects and ventures?

“This summer is going to be packed. First and foremost, I am going to be abroad with UofM’s School of Kinesiology and helping out there to get some content for the university. I also will be back for the Wimbledon and I had a great time there last year so it should be great to go back again. Finally, I will be working on some personal projects at home and also making some cool content for Shade!”

Finally, what are you looking forward to as a Shade Creator?

“I am really excited to use the creative tools that Shade has to offer and I am looking forward to having my workflow become so much more efficient. As a creator, time is really everything and if I can just open up an hour for myself to capture content, I consider that a success.”

Austin, we can’t thank you enough for your efforts as a Shade Creator and are looking forward to the future!
